Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 1 teaspoon matcha powder
  • 2 ounces hot water (about 175°F)
  • 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • Sweetener to taste (honey, agave, or sugar)
  • Ice (if making an iced version)

Instructions

  1. Wash and hull the strawberries, then purée in a blender until smooth.
  2. Add matcha powder into a bowl and pour in the hot water. Whisk until fully dissolved and frothy.
  3. In a glass, layer two tablespoons of strawberry puree, then pour in the milk, leaving room for the matcha.
  4. Gently pour the whisked matcha over the milk and strawberry mixture.
  5. Mix in sweetener as desired to adjust the taste.
  6. Serve immediately hot, or over ice for a refreshing iced version.
