A comforting Steak Grilled Cheese featuring succulent garlic-seasoned steak, gooey melted cheese, and crunchy, buttery bread.

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings

Ingredients

  • 8 oz steak (flank or sirloin), seasoned with salt, pepper, and minced garlic
  • 4 slices of cheese (Swiss, cheddar, or provolone)
  • 4 slices of hearty, crusty bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or Texas toast)
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the steak: Season with salt, pepper, and minced garlic. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Allow to rest and slice thinly.
  2. Prepare the bread: Spread softened butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Layer it up: Heat the skillet and lay a slice of bread butter-side down. Add cheese, sliced steak, more cheese, and top with another slice of bread butter-side up.
  4. Grill to perfection: Cook until the bread is golden, about 3-4 minutes, then gently flip and cook until the cheese is melted and the other side is browned.
  5. Serve: Slice the sandwich in half and serve immediately with crispy fries or a salad.

Notes

Feel free to customize with additional ingredients like sautéed mushrooms or fresh herbs.
