Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 bag frozen hash browns or diced potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can cream of mushroom or cream of chicken soup
- 1 chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: paprika for seasoning
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Sauté the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion is translucent.
- Mix together the beef mixture with the cream of soup and shredded cheese in a large bowl; season with salt and pepper.
- Fold in the frozen potatoes until well coated.
- Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading evenly.
- Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil, top with additional cheese, and bake for another 15-20 minutes until bubbling and golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For added crunch, mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top during the last few minutes of baking.
