Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then let it cool slightly.
  3. Mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until combined.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla.
  5. Combine the flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined.
  6. Add the chocolate chips and gently fold them in.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased 8×8-inch baking dish and smooth it out evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
  9. Prepare the strawberries by washing and slicing them.
  10. Make the chocolate glaze by melting chocolate with heavy cream until smooth, then drizzle over the sliced strawberries.
  11. Chill the brownies in the refrigerator for at least one hour to let the glaze set.
  12. Slice into squares and serve with a garnish of fresh mint if desired.
