Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken (breast or thighs)
- 2 cups canned tomatoes
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch ginger, minced
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tbsp honey or sugar
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken pieces in yogurt, spices, and a bit of lemon juice for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- Cook the marinated chicken in a hot skillet with some oil until golden brown.
- Make the sauce by melting butter in the same pan and sautéing onions until translucent.
- Add tomatoes and spices, then let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes until thickened.
- Blend the sauce if a smoother texture is desired, then stir in the heavy cream.
- Finishing touches include fresh cilantro just before serving.
- Serve with naan or basmati rice, and enjoy!
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute chicken with tofu. Adjust the cream quantity for a lighter option.
