Ingredients

  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare an 8×8 inch baking pan by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then stir in the cocoa powder until combined.
  4. Add the granulated and brown sugars, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Whisk in the eggs one at a time and then the vanilla extract.
  6. Combine the flour and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually fold it into the wet mixture until just combined.
  7. Fold in the strawberries gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth it out.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the edges look set.
  10. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack and cutting into squares.

Notes

For a fun variation, add nuts or use applesauce to replace some butter for a healthier option.
