Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar (or brown sugar for deeper flavor)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 cups fresh apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
Instructions
- Prepare your apples: Peel, core, and chop your apples into bite-sized chunks and toss with cinnamon.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Incorporate the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition along with the vanilla extract.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the butter mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the prepared apples until evenly distributed.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool for ten minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Ensure your butter is at room temperature for better emulsification. Use firm apple varieties to maintain texture during baking.
