Ingredients
- 3 cups tart apples, peeled and cored
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture gently.
- Chop the apples and fold them into the batter until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
