Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup whole milk
- 2 to 3 cups peeled, diced apples (preferably Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing or lining it with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients: in a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- Combine the wet and dry mixtures, alternating with the milk.
- Fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar or serve warm with ice cream if desired.
