Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
- 3/4 cup milk (or heavy cream/buttermilk)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1-2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
- Optional: lemon juice (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add the milk and vanilla, mixing just until combined.
- Fold in the blueberries carefully.
- Shape the dough into a rectangle about 1 inch thick and cut into biscuits.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk (and optional lemon juice).
- Drizzle the glaze over warm biscuits and serve.
Notes
For a bakery-perfect finish, brush the tops of biscuits with an egg wash before baking.
