Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 3/4 cup milk (or heavy cream/buttermilk)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1-2 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • Optional: lemon juice (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the milk and vanilla, mixing just until combined.
  5. Fold in the blueberries carefully.
  6. Shape the dough into a rectangle about 1 inch thick and cut into biscuits.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar and milk (and optional lemon juice).
  9. Drizzle the glaze over warm biscuits and serve.

Notes

For a bakery-perfect finish, brush the tops of biscuits with an egg wash before baking.
