Ingredients
- 2 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs (parsley or chives)
- Salt, to taste

Instructions
- Begin by slicing your onions thinly; uniform slices will ensure even cooking.
- Heat your olive oil or melted butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions with a pinch of salt.
- Sauté the onions, stirring occasionally, for about 20 to 30 minutes until golden brown.
- When the onions are caramelized, throw in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Reduce the heat to low, and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Combine the cooled onion mixture with cream cheese and sour cream in a mixing bowl.
- Stir in your salt, pepper, and fresh herbs until well combined.
- Serve warm or at room temperature with chips, veggies, or toasted baguette slices.
Notes
