  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or steak slices
  • 8 oz mushrooms, diced (Portobello or cremini)
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz provolone cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Sauté the onions in olive oil until translucent, about 5 minutes, then add the bell peppers and mushrooms until soft.
  3. Cook the ground beef in the same skillet, browning and crumbling it, incorporating garlic, salt, and pepper for flavor.
  4. Mix in the cream cheese until melted and well-combined.
  5. Assemble the mixture in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layering with provolone and cheddar cheese on top.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Serve and enjoy, garnishing with fresh herbs or sliced green onions.

Notes

For best results, use a meat thermometer to ensure beef is properly cooked. Avoid over-baking to maintain gooey cheese.
