Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef or pork
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp Italian herbs
- 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 8 oz fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the meatball mixture by combining ground meat, garlic, paprika, cumin, Italian herbs, Parmesan, and salt and pepper in a large bowl.
- Form meatballs about 1 to 2 inches in diameter and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Cook the meatballs in a large skillet with oil over medium heat until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes per batch.
- Remove the meatballs and set aside.
- Sauté the sliced mushrooms in the same skillet until golden and fragrant, about 4-5 minutes.
- Make the cream sauce by pouring heavy cream into the skillet, scraping up any browned bits, and adding cayenne pepper if desired.
- Combine the meatballs back into the sauce and let them simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Finish with freshly chopped parsley or basil before serving.
Notes
Ensure meatballs are of uniform size for even cooking. Adjust spices to your preference.
