A rich and indulgent cake combining buttery flavor with crunchy toasted pecans and a gooey interior.

  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup toasted chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment for easy removal.
  2. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together the flour and a pinch of salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  6. Transfer the batter to your prepared baking dish, smoothing into an even layer.
  7. Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and an egg until smooth. Pour this over the top of your batter gently.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center is set but gooey. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
  9. Dust with additional powdered sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for a smooth batter. Avoid overmixing flour to maintain tenderness.
