Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup toasted chopped pecans
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment for easy removal.
- Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, fully incorporating each before the next, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together the flour and a pinch of salt in another bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped pecans.
- Transfer the batter to your prepared baking dish, smoothing into an even layer.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and an egg until smooth. Pour this over the top of your batter gently.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center is set but gooey. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
- Dust with additional powdered sugar and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for a smooth batter. Avoid overmixing flour to maintain tenderness.
