Deliciously sweet and sticky Brussels sprouts coated in a flavorful glaze that combines the richness of maple syrup, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar.

  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prep the Brussels sprouts by trimming the ends and removing any yellowed leaves. Slice in half lengthwise.
  2. Sauté the sprouts in a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil or melted butter over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until they start to brown.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
  4. Create the glaze by whisking together maple syrup, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
  5. Combine the glaze with the sprouts in the skillet, stirring to coat, and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until sticky.
  6. Finish by removing from heat, seasoning with black pepper, and serving warm.

Notes

For a vegan option, substitute honey with agave syrup. If you don’t have soy sauce, try coconut aminos.
