Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
- 2-3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prep the Brussels sprouts by trimming the ends and removing any yellowed leaves. Slice in half lengthwise.
- Sauté the sprouts in a large skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil or melted butter over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes until they start to brown.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Create the glaze by whisking together maple syrup, soy sauce, and apple cider vinegar in a small bowl.
- Combine the glaze with the sprouts in the skillet, stirring to coat, and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until sticky.
- Finish by removing from heat, seasoning with black pepper, and serving warm.
Notes
For a vegan option, substitute honey with agave syrup. If you don’t have soy sauce, try coconut aminos.
