Ingredients
- 1 lb boneless chicken (breast or thighs)
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons chili sauce or sriracha
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for sautéing
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Sauté aromatics: In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, stirring until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Brown the chicken: Increase heat and add chicken pieces. Sauté until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Make the sauce: Whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, chili sauce, and cornstarch until smooth.
- Combine everything: Pour sauce over chicken in skillet and stir to combine, bringing to a simmer. Cook until sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Finish with sesame oil: Just before serving, drizzle in sesame oil and stir well.
- Serve hot: Enjoy over rice or alongside steamed vegetables.
Notes
For extra crispiness, consider giving the chicken a quick coat in cornstarch before frying. Adjust spice levels by varying the amount of chili sauce used.
