Ingredients
- 4 Salmon fillets
- 1/4 cup Soy sauce
- 1/4 cup Honey or maple syrup
- 2 cloves Garlic, freshly minced
- 1 tablespoon Fresh ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon Chili flakes or Sriracha
- Zest and juice of 1 Lemon
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, ginger, chili flakes, lemon zest, and juice. Mix until well-blended.
- Marinate the Salmon: Place your salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring each fillet is well-coated. Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Sear the Salmon: Heat a non-stick skillet or a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Add a drizzle of oil, and when hot, place the marinated salmon skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy.
- Glaze the Salmon: Gently flip the fillets, then pour any remaining marinade over the top. Lower the heat to medium and let it cook for another 3-4 minutes, basting the salmon with the glaze as it cooks.
- Finishing Touches: Once the salmon flakes easily with a fork, remove it from the heat and allow it to rest for a couple of minutes. Drizzle any leftover sauce from the pan over the top for an extra punch of flavor.
- Serve: Plate your salmon alongside roasted veggies, jasmine rice, or a fresh salad. Enjoy!
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce. Always use fresh, high-quality salmon for the best flavor.
