- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter and sugars together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then add the vanilla extract.
- Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden but centers are soft.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For the best flavor, use room temperature butter and eggs. Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before baking for thicker cookies.
