Delicious Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls that combine the sweet flavor of strawberries with warm cinnamon in a fluffy pastry.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 1 packet instant dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup warm milk (or plant-based milk)
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted (or vegan butter)
  • 1 beaten egg (or flax egg)
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1-2 cups sliced fresh strawberries (or thawed frozen strawberries)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing flour, yeast, sugar, and salt, then adding warm milk and melted butter.
  2. Add the beaten egg and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for 1-2 hours.
  4. Prepare the filling by combining softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle about ¼-inch thick.
  6. Spread the filling over the dough and sprinkle with sliced strawberries.
  7. Roll the dough into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  8. Let the rolls rise again for 30-45 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 25-30 minutes.
  10. Make the glaze by whisking powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  11. Glaze the warm rolls with the icing.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for a week. Freezing is also an option for both unbaked and baked rolls.
