A delicious low-carb twist on the classic cheeseburger, featuring savory ground beef, crispy bacon, and gooey cheese in a comforting casserole.

  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20)
  • 6 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup mushrooms (button or cremini), sliced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  3. Sauté the chopped bacon in the same skillet until crispy, then combine with the cooked ground beef.
  4. Cook the sliced mushrooms in the skillet until golden and fragrant.
  5. Mix the sautéed bacon and mushrooms, cooked beef, cream cheese, and spices in a large bowl. Stir in the beaten eggs.
  6. Layer the mixture into a greased casserole dish and top with shredded cheese.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set.

Notes

Experiment with adding jalapeños for heat or cream cheese for creaminess. Letting the casserole rest enhances flavors and simplifies slicing.
