Instructions

  1. Bake the Cake: Preheat your oven and prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan. Follow the instructions on your boxed cake mix to create a delicious vanilla cake. Allow it to cool completely.
  2. Prepare the Strawberries: Wash and slice the strawberries. Set aside a handful for garnish, and toss the rest with a scoop of sugar. Let them sit to release their juices.
  3. Poke the Cake: Once the cake is cool, use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes all over the surface of the cake, about every inch or so.
  4. Add the Condensed Milk: Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over the surface of the cake, letting it settle into the holes.
  5. Incorporate the Strawberries: Spoon the sugared strawberry mixture over the cake, ensuring even coverage.
  6. Whip the Cream: In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar, then whip until stiff peaks form. Fold in a splash of vanilla extract.
