Ingredients
- 1 packet of unflavored gelatin
- 1 cup of fruit juice (orange, cranberry, etc.)
- Sweetener (honey, agave, or sugar to taste)
- Fresh fruits (optional, diced berries or citrus segments)
- Herbs (optional, like mint or basil)
Instructions
- Dissolve the gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle your unflavored gelatin over 1/4 cup of cold water. Let it bloom for about 5 minutes until it swells.
- Heat your juice: Bring 1 cup of juice to a simmer over medium heat, adding sweetener if needed, without boiling.
- Combine: Remove the hot juice from heat and stir in the bloomed gelatin until completely dissolved.
- Add fresh fruits: Pour some mixture into molds, add fruit pieces, then fill the remainder of the molds.
- Chill: Cool at room temperature for 20 minutes, then chill in the fridge for 2-4 hours until set.
- Unmold: Release the cubes by running a knife along the edges and flipping the molds onto a plate.
Notes
If using plastic molds, dipping them briefly in warm water helps to release the cubes easily.
