A delightful, moist vanilla cake topped with creamy cream cheese frosting, perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day or any special occasion.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 batch cream cheese frosting (cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar)
  • Sprinkles or fresh berries for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare two 8-inch round cake pans by greasing and lining with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Incorporate the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract.
  6. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry mix. Stir until just combined.
  7. Bake the cakes for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool the cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Frost the cakes with cream cheese frosting and decorate with sprinkles or berries.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider using whole wheat flour and reducing sugar. Fresh fruit can be added to increase nutritional value.
