Ingredients

  • 4 oz Quality semisweet or dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare an 8×4 inch baking pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it with butter.
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter together over low heat until smooth, then cool slightly.
  4. Mix in the granulated and brown sugars until combined.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Incorporate the flour and salt, folding gently until just combined.
  7. Add optional mix-ins like chocolate chips or nuts, if desired.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until set but slightly underbaked in the center.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
