A delightful combination of sweet crab and tender shrimp encased in buttery, flaky biscuits, perfect for sharing and creating memories.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 lb fresh crab meat (lump or claw)
  • 1 package flaky biscuit dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 green onions (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (parsley or dill)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Biscuits: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If making homemade biscuits, roll out dough and cut into rounds or squares. Bake until golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  2. Sauté the Seafood: In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add minced garlic. Sauté for a minute, then add shrimp and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes. Gently fold in crab meat, green onions, and half the herbs. Add lemon zest and juice, season with salt, pepper, and cayenne.
  3. Assemble the Melts: Slice the baked biscuits in half and spoon the shrimp and crab mixture on the bottom half. Sprinkle with the remaining herbs and place the top half back on.
  4. Final Touch: Optionally, pop the filled biscuits back in the oven for an additional 3-5 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Serve Warm: Let cool slightly before serving with a side salad or vegetable dish.

Notes

For substitutions, use frozen shrimp if fresh isn’t available. You can also replace crab with lobster or scallops.
