Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional mix-ins: chocolate chips, rainbow sprinkles, dried fruit
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy and light.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl, then gradually add to the wet ingredients.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
- Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are golden.
- Cool for a few minutes before decorating.
Notes
Don’t overmix the dough and keep an eye on baking time to prevent burning.
