Delightful heart-shaped donuts that embody love in every bite, perfect for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare your workspace: Gather all your ingredients and kitchen tools, including a heart-shaped donut cutter. Preheat oil in a deep skillet to about 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well incorporated.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Add wet mixture to dry ingredients, stirring gently. Avoid over-mixing; a few lumps are fine!
  5. Cut the donuts: Roll out dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut out shapes with a floured heart-shaped cutter.
  6. Fry: Place donuts in preheated oil, frying a few at a time for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Add toppings: Once slightly cooled, glaze with icing or dust with powdered sugar. Don’t forget the sprinkles!

Notes

Fry in batches to maintain oil temperature for the best results. Glaze while the donuts are still warm for better adhesion.
