Delightful crunchy dog treats made with wholesome ingredients like apples and carrots that your furry friend will love.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 grated apple
  • 1 cup grated carrots
  • 1 beaten egg or 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce (for vegan version)
  • Water (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together the whole wheat flour and cinnamon in a large bowl.
  3. Add the grated apple, grated carrot, and beaten egg (or applesauce) to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth, adding water if too dry.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 1/2 inch thick and cut shapes using a bone-shaped cookie cutter.
  6. Place on a parchment-lined tray and bake for 30–35 minutes until golden and crunchy.
  7. Cool completely before serving.

Notes

Make a double batch and store extras in a sealed container for freshness. These treats freeze well.
