- 1 slice sourdough bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
- Fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or basil), for garnish
- Optional add-ons: sautéed garlic mushrooms, avocado slices, or crumbled feta cheese
Instructions
- Brown the butter in a skillet over medium heat until golden and nutty.
- Toast the sourdough bread in the browned butter for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Cook the egg in a separate skillet, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Assemble the toast by placing the cooked egg on top of the toasted bread and drizzling additional brown butter.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately.
Notes
For best results, avoid using high heat when browning the butter to prevent burning.
