Ingredients
- Ground Lamb
- 1 Onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 inch Ginger, minced
- 1 tsp Cumin
- 1 tsp Coriander
- 1 tsp Garam Masala
- 1/2 tsp Red Chili Powder
- Cilantro or Mint, to taste
- Store-bought samosa or spring roll wrappers
- Vegetable Oil, for frying
- 2 Ripe Mangoes, diced
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- Spices for chutney: Ginger, Chili, Vinegar
- Optional: Sultanas or Raisins
Instructions
- In a skillet, heat oil and sauté onions until translucent. Add garlic and ginger, cooking until fragrant.
- Stir in ground lamb and spices, cooking until browned. Season with herbs, salt, and pepper, then allow to cool.
- If making dough, mix flour and salt, add water, roll thin, and cut into circles. If using wrappers, ensure they are thawed.
- Assemble by placing filling on dough circle, folding over, and sealing the edges. Create pleats if desired.
- Heat oil in a deep pan and fry samosas in batches until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- For chutney, combine diced mango, sugar, vinegar, and spices in a saucepan. Simmer until thickened.
- Serve warm with mango chutney on the side.
Notes
Don’t overfill the samosas and ensure a good seal to prevent leaks during frying. Serve with a yogurt dip for added flavor.
