Ingredients
- 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced into thin strips
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch fresh ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 bell peppers, chopped
- 3 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Instructions
- Slice the beef into thin strips, about ¼ inch thick.
- In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and ginger, sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- In the slow cooker, combine sautéed garlic and ginger, sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sesame oil. Add bell peppers and mix well.
- Close the lid and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, adjust flavors if necessary and serve over steamed rice, garnished with green onions.
Notes
For optimal flavor, consider marinating the beef in soy sauce for a few hours before cooking, and ensure proper slicing against the grain.
