Ingredients
- 1 cup Fresh Cranberries
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 cup Mushrooms (button or shiitake), chopped
- 2 tbsp Fresh Herbs (such as Sage or Rosemary), chopped
- 1 sheet Puff Pastry, thawed
- 1 Egg (for egg wash)
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Sauté the Mushrooms: Heat a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, then add chopped mushrooms. Cook until golden brown, around 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
- Mix the Filling: In a bowl, combine sautéed mushrooms, softened cream cheese, and cranberries until blended.
- Roll Out the Puff Pastry: On a floured surface, cut the thawed pastry into rectangles (4 inches by 6 inches).
- Fill and Roll: Place a spoonful of filling on one side of each rectangle, roll tightly, sealing edges with water.
- Egg Wash: Brush the tops with egg wash and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Serve Warm: Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Make sure to remove excess moisture from sautéed mushrooms to prevent sogginess in the pastry.
