  • Total Time: 42 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Fresh rock lobster tails
  • 2 tablespoons miso paste (preferably white or yellow)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 fresh garlic cloves, crushed
  • Fresh herbs (like chives or cilantro), finely chopped
  • 1 lemon, squeezed
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the lobster tails by cutting them in half lengthwise.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter and stir in miso paste and crushed garlic until blended.
  3. Brush the miso-butter mixture generously over the lobster tails and marinate for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and oil the grill grates lightly.
  5. Grill the lobster tails cut-side down for about 5–7 minutes, then flip and brush with any remaining miso-butter, grilling for another 5 minutes until opaque.
  6. Remove from grill, allow to rest, and finish with fresh lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional herbs.

Notes

If you have leftover miso-butter, it makes a great spread for bread or a dip for vegetables.
