Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, mix 1 cup of water with 1 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of molasses.
- Add the Spices: Stir in 2 teaspoons of ground ginger, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves.
- Simmer: Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat. Allow it to bubble softly for about 5 minutes, stirring regularly until the sugar dissolves.
- Cool: Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool completely.
- Store: Once cooled, transfer the syrup to a clean, airtight jar and refrigerate.

For a more intense flavor, let the syrup sit in the fridge for at least 24 hours before using.
