Ingredients
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, gently folding until just combined.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them about two inches apart.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute coconut oil or vegan butter. For gluten-free, use gluten-free flour.
