Ingredients
- 4 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), washed, peeled, and chopped
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or almond flour for a gluten-free option)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup cream (for caramel sauce)
- Sea salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Wash, peel, and core the apples, then chop them into bite-sized chunks. Toss with brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a saucepan, melt brown sugar, butter, and cream over medium heat, stirring until smooth. Drizzle half over the apple mixture.
- Combine rolled oats, flour, and brown sugar in a bowl. Mix in melted butter until crumbles form.
- Grease a mini muffin tin and layer with the apple mixture, then the crisp topping. Press down gently.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Let cool slightly, then drizzle with remaining caramel sauce before serving.
