Ingredients
- 1 lb 80/20 ground beef
- 6 slices thick-cut bacon
- 4 slices American cheese (or cheddar/pepper jack)
- 1/2 cup ranch dressing (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 brioche or potato buns
- Lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles (for toppings)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Fry bacon in a skillet until crispy. Drain on paper towels and reserve some fat in the pan.
- If making homemade ranch, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs until smooth.
- Mix ground beef with salt and pepper, form into patties with an indentation in the center.
- Cook patties in the skillet with reserved bacon fat over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes per side. Add cheese during the last minute to melt.
- Toast buns lightly in the skillet, spread ranch dressing on the bottom bun, then add the patty, bacon, and desired toppings. Drizzle more ranch before adding the top bun.
- Serve with fries or a fresh salad.
Notes
Let the patties rest for a few minutes after cooking for juicier burgers. Customize toppings to your preference.
