Delightful heart-shaped cookies filled with sweet raspberry jam, perfect for family gatherings and holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup raspberry jam
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Beat together softened butter and granulated sugar until creamy.
  2. Add egg yolk and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. Gradually mix in flour until dough comes together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 60 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out the chilled dough to about 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface.
  7. Cut shapes using a cookie cutter, cutting out a smaller shape in half of them.
  8. Place cut-out cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.
  10. Spread raspberry jam on the solid cookie base and place the cut-out cookie on top.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened but not melted for the right texture. Experiment with different jam flavors for variety.
