Ingredients
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter, browned
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat until browned, stirring frequently.
- In a large bowl, mix the browned butter with brown and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are golden and centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes helps develop flavor and improve texture.
