A flavorful dish of roasted sea bream infused with lemon and garlic, capturing the essence of Mediterranean cuisine.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 whole sea bream (1 to 1.5 pounds)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 fresh lemons, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Fresh oregano, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons capers (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean the sea bream by removing the scales and insides. Rinse and pat dry.
  3. Make shallow cuts along the fish’s body on both sides. Rub with salt, pepper, and minced garlic.
  4. Stuff the cavity with lemon slices, fresh herbs, and capers if using.
  5. Lay the fish on a parchment-lined baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Roast for 25–30 minutes until the flesh flakes easily and the skin is crispy.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
  8. Transfer to a platter and garnish with fresh herbs and lemon slices. Serve with a side salad or sautéed vegetables.

Notes

Avoid overcooking to keep the fish moist. Let it rest before serving for optimal flavor.
