Ingredients
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined.
- Chill the dough for at least 30 minutes.
- Scoop out rounded tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Decorate if desired and enjoy!
Notes
Use fresh nutmeg for the best flavor. Don’t skip chilling the dough for improved texture.
