A delightful combination of sweet cranberries and spicy jalapeños, perfect as a condiment or appetizer.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 2-4 fresh jalapeños, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients: Rinse the cranberries and chop the jalapeños, wearing gloves if sensitive to spice.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine cranberries, chopped jalapeños, sugar, apple cider vinegar, and spices over medium heat.
  3. Stir frequently until the mixture begins to bubble, then lower the heat and simmer for about 10-15 minutes until cranberries pop and thicken.
  4. Taste the mixture and adjust the seasonings as needed, adding more jalapeños for spice or sugar for sweetness.
  5. Remove from heat, cool, and transfer into sterilized jars.
  6. For best flavor, let it rest in the fridge for at least a day before serving.

Notes

Serve with cream cheese, on charcuterie boards, or as a topping for roasted meats. Can be stored in the fridge for up to two weeks or frozen for up to three months.
