Ingredients
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms (cremini or shiitake), sliced
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, leaves stripped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 egg, for egg wash
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Clean and slice mushrooms, mince garlic, and strip thyme leaves from stems.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the mushrooms until golden. Add garlic and thyme, cooking for another minute.
- Reduce heat and mix in cream cheese and half of the Parmesan until melted and creamy.
- Roll out puff pastry to 1/4 inch thick and cut into squares.
- Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each square, fold corners over and pinch to seal.
- Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with remaining Parmesan, and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
These squares can be frozen before baking. Bake directly from the freezer, adding extra baking time.
