Ingredients
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or chicken)
- 2 cups cauliflower rice or zucchini
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups low-sugar tomato sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup toppings (e.g., pepperoni, olives, bell peppers)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground meat until fully cooked and well seasoned.
- If using cauliflower rice, sauté it in the skillet until tender; if using zucchini, spiralize it and drain excess moisture.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat with the sautéed vegetables, cream cheese, and spices until well mixed.
- Pour half of the tomato sauce into a casserole dish, layer the meat mixture on top, followed by the remaining sauce and shredded cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20–25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes for a golden crust.
- Allow the casserole to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute meat with tempeh or TVP. Adjust toppings per individual preference for a personal touch.
