Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy.
- Add milk, melted butter, minced garlic, and rosemary to the yeast mixture.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it for about 8-10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Place your kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm spot for about an hour, or until it has doubled in size.
- Once doubled, punch down the dough gently to release air. Divide it into 12 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.
- Arrange the dough balls in a greased baking dish, cover with a clean cloth, and allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Brush the tops of the rolls with melted butter and sprinkle a little salt on top. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Allowing the rolls to rest enhances the flavor; don’t skip the rise for fluffy rolls.
