- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup M&Ms
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and include vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the flour, baking soda, and salt together, then gradually mix it into the wet ingredients.
- Gently fold in the M&Ms and any additional ingredients if desired.
- Spread the dough evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center has set.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares or rectangles to serve.
Notes
For a chewy texture, slightly underbake the bars and allow them to cool completely before slicing.
