Ingredients
- 4 large Eggs
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 cup Heavy Cream (or whole milk)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Nutmeg or Cinnamon (optional)
- Pre-made pastry shells (or homemade pastry dough)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- If using pre-made pastry shells, follow package instructions. For homemade, roll out pastry dough and fit into tart molds, pricking bottoms with a fork.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and sugar until blended. Slowly mix in heavy cream and vanilla extract, adding nutmeg or cinnamon if desired.
- Pour custard filling into prepared crusts until just below the rim.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are puffed and centers are set but still jiggly.
- Let cool in pans for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Dust lightly with powdered sugar before serving for a festive touch.
