Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 cup dark chocolate (minimum 70% cacao)
  • 1/4 cup sweetener (maple syrup, honey, or agave syrup)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and melt it gently in a microwave or a double boiler. Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.
  2. Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a food processor.
  3. Add the melted chocolate, sweetener, vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and salt to the food processor with the avocado.
  4. Blend until achieving a velvety texture, scraping down the sides as necessary. Taste and adjust sweetness or salt as needed.
  5. Transfer the mousse into serving bowls or ramekins and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to enhance flavors.
  6. Optionally, top with fresh berries or a sprinkle of sea salt before serving.
