Ingredients
- 1 package of store-bought pizza dough
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary or thyme, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash) or a mixture of milk and water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out your dough into a rectangle on a floured surface, about 1/4 inch thick.
- Sprinkle generously with mozzarella and cheddar, along with your chosen herbs and garlic.
- Fold the dough in half lengthwise and pinch the edges to seal the cheese inside.
- Cut out a tree shape, leaving the center intact to form the trunk.
- Make cuts on either side of the triangle to create ‘branches.’
- Gently pull apart the branches to create a layered effect.
- Brush the entire tree with egg wash or milk and water mixture.
- Optionally, sprinkle sea salt and extra herbs on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra cheesy goodness, consider including small cubed pieces of cheese within the branches before sealing. Best enjoyed warm.
