Ingredients
- 1 Butterball turkey breast
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Kosher salt, to taste
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 onion, quartered
- 1 cup chicken broth
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
- Pat the turkey breast dry and place it on a roasting rack. Let it come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.
- In a small bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, herbs, salt, and pepper. Add lemon juice if desired.
- Loosen the skin of the turkey breast and spread the herb butter directly onto the meat.
- Place quartered onion inside the cavity of the turkey breast.
- Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the breast. Roast for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours until the turkey reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Baste the turkey every 30 minutes with pan juices.
- Once done, let the turkey rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Using a roasting pan with a rack helps achieve a golden brown finish all around the turkey.
